Mental Health.
Mental health is not a destination, but a process. It’s about how you drive, not where you’re going.
Spreading awareness
Mental health should not be taboo and we as an organization want to make sure you feel comfortable opening up to others, so we joined forces.
We are joining forces with an other organization called; Senaite Foundation. Senaite organizes events for Eritrean diaspora and Eritrean parents to talk about mental health and sexual assault.
The reason why we are joining forces with the Sanait Foundation, is because we see in our Eritrean community, that the former generation and the generation before them, find it hard to understand and to accept that there is such a thing as a mental illness. They find it hard to acknowledge that their children are struggling with this mental health issue. We want to change this and offer others a helping hand in these difficult times.
Opening up
We want to start a difficult and sensitive conversation how we can support each other, to educate, to guide the former generation and the generation before them what mental health issue is. We want to make them aware of what it means and how to deal with mental health issues. But also how to have the conversation with a person who has been through a mental health issue or sexual assault.
We as a foundation organize events to talk about these certain topics, feel comfortable, meet other people, have fun, but also learn to open up to others.
